Need help with Markit? We're here for you. Below you'll find answers to common questions and ways to reach our team.

Getting Started

  • Create an Account: Download Markit from the App Store and sign up with your email address or Google account. You'll need to agree to our Terms of Service and Privacy Policy before entering the marketplace.
  • Browse the Map: Once signed in, explore the interactive map to discover local farmers, artisans, and small businesses near you.

Account & Profile

  • Reset Your Password: Tap "Forgot Password?" on the sign-in screen and enter your email address. You'll receive a reset link within a few minutes. Note: there's a 5-minute cooldown between reset requests.
  • Update Your Profile: By clicking on your Avatar image in the top-left of the map view you will bring up a menu, from which you can choose the option to "Edit Profile" to update your display name, business name, bio, avatar, and contact information.
  • Delete Your Account: You can permanently delete your account and all associated data from within the app's settings. This action is irreversible and will remove your profile, places, products, and inventory.

Places & Products

  • Adding a Place: Tap the "+" button on the map to create a new location. Add a name, address, category, and description to help shoppers find you.
  • Managing Inventory: Within any place you own, add inventory items with pricing, quantity, and availability status. You can create new products or add existing products. Changes are reflected in real time.
  • Product Catalog: Create products in your catalog and add them to multiple places. Product images, UPC/SKU codes, and ingredients are managed at the product level.

Reporting & Safety

Markit enforces a Zero-Tolerance Policy for objectionable content. If you encounter something that violates our Content Standards, please report it:

  • Tap the flag or report icon on any place, product, or user profile.
  • Select a category and provide a brief description of the issue.
  • Our moderation team will review the report and take appropriate action.

You can track the status of your reports from your in-app notification inbox.

Troubleshooting

  • Map not loading: Make sure you have granted Markit location access in your iOS Settings > Privacy > Location Services. The app works best with "While Using the App" enabled.
  • Can't upload images: Markit requires the iOS "Sensitive Content Analysis" setting to be enabled. Go to Settings > Privacy & Security > Sensitive Content Analysis and turn it on.
  • Not receiving notifications: Ensure notifications are enabled in iOS Settings > Markit > Notifications. Also check that you are signed in — notification permissions are requested at sign-in.
